How It All Started
PFP Heritage was a heartbeat before it was a brand, and that heartbeat could only be from one machine and one machine only : Ferrari 308 Vetroresina Koenig.
When Ferrari introduced the 308 GTB in 1975, it initiated a new chapter for the Prancing Horse’s story.
712 units were produced with a lightweight fibreglass (vetroresina) body, making them among the rarest and most collectible versions of the brand today. Lighter than their steel counterparts, these are the version that are truly ‘raw’; the kind where you’ve got sweat on your hands, and your heart is racing because it feels like an achievement.
But our 308 is more than raw – it is radical.
There are few cars that can say they were radically underneath a tuners hands; Koenig Specials, from the famed German tuner and ex-racing driver Willy König.
Koenig Specials, throughout the 1980s, was one of the only ones that dared to deviate from the standard; visually and mechanically.
The Koenig 308 is safety-valve to an era of automotive audacity. Koenig took bodykits, that were inspired by rudimentary Group 5 race cars and made ultra-wide bodykits, turbo-charged power upgrades, and aerodynamic touches that challenged Ferrari’s own factory aesthetics.
Koenig Specials’ Ferrari’s didn’t just roared louder; they were wider, the attention they drew was louder and the street cred was overwhelmingly louder.
